| 607420: NATICK- SUPERSTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT, N-03-012, BODEN LANE OVER CSX/MBTA | Cost Increase | The project cost has increased based on modifications to the project design. Landscape elements were added to the design to compensate for tree loss on both sides of the road at the request of the Town and abutters. Hazardous materials items were added to comply with MassDOT requirements for hazardous soil management that were promulgated within the last two years. Drainage infrastructure has been extended north and south of the project limits to connect to the nearest existing systems. Additional concrete was required for the moment slab for the bridge rail separating vehicles from the bicycles/pedestrians, impact attenuators were added to the bridge rail, and the bridge rail was extended to Boden Lane. Geotechnical monitoring and protection has been added to monitor the two MWRA Pipes crossing Boden Lane, and soldier pile and lagging walls have been proposed for both sides of the road. This work is required by the MWRA to eliminate extra weight over their sewer pipes. | NGBP | $10,562,329 | $15,697,071 | $5,134,742 |
| 609388: WENHAM- SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ON ROUTE 1A | Cost Increase | This project was programmed into the 2026–30 STIP using the 75% submission (February 2024) without design contingencies or utility estimates. The utility estimates at Final PS&E design are now in hand and the majority of the construction item cost increases are related to pavement and the increased costs of fuel. The combination of these increases and their associated default contract contingencies requires a STIP Amendment. | HSIP | $4,941,812 | $5,958,066 | $1,016,254 |
| 611974: MEDFORD- INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT MAIN STREET/SOUTH STREET, MAIN STREET/MYSTIC VALLEY PARKWAY | Cost Decrease | The estimated cost of this project has decreased based on comments on the 100% design made on May 4, 2026. | HSIP, VUS | $10,303,377 | $8,082,779 | -$2,220,598 |
| 614242: DISTRICT 4- VRU CROSSWALK INSTALLATION AT STATE SIGNALS AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS | New Project | This line item reflects funding for safety upgrades made within MassDOT Highway District 4. These upgrades are part of an ongoing MassDOT initiative to improve safety for vulnerable road users near bus stops. This first series of locations includes sites in Salem and Woburn within the Boston Region, and Billerica within the Northern Middlesex region. | VUS | $0 | $1,268,643 | $1,268,643 |
