607420: NATICK- SUPERSTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT, N-03-012, BODEN LANE OVER CSX/MBTA	Cost Increase	The project cost has increased based on modifications to the project design. Landscape elements were added to the design to compensate for tree loss on both sides of the road at the request of the Town and abutters. Hazardous materials items were added to comply with MassDOT requirements for hazardous soil management that were promulgated within the last two years. Drainage infrastructure has been extended north and south of the project limits to connect to the nearest existing systems. Additional concrete was required for the moment slab for the bridge rail separating vehicles from the bicycles/pedestrians, impact attenuators were added to the bridge rail, and the bridge rail was extended to Boden Lane. Geotechnical monitoring and protection has been added to monitor the two MWRA Pipes crossing Boden Lane, and soldier pile and lagging walls have been proposed for both sides of the road. The utility estimates at Final PS&E design are now in hand and the majority of the construction item cost increases are related to pavement and the increased costs of fuel.
